My phone isn’t listed for the Infinix Android 15 and XOS 15 Updates. What do I do?

So your phone isn’t listed for the official Infinix Android 15 update and download. What happens next? What’s your fate?

Your Infinix phone isn’t obsolete and will continue functioning normally. Most apps will still work, and you may not notice any immediate changes. However, without the latest Android update, your phone becomes more vulnerable to security threats, misses out on new features and improvements, and may experience reduced efficiency and performance over time.

If your Infinix smartphone isn’t eligible for the Android 15 update, you can do the following:

1. Upgrade your Infinix Smartphone:

You might consider upgrading your old smartphone to a newer model that is eligible for regular Android updates and security patches. You can choose your next smartphone from the ZERO, NOTE or GT series.

2. Third-party Custom ROMS:

Many developer communities (especially on Telegram) create custom ROMs for Infinix smartphones that are no longer eligible for new Android updates. These ROMs run on the latest Android versions and have the latest features. Some even borrow features from Samsung, Huawei, OnePlus, Google Pixel, and others.

However, the installation process requires some technical know-how. And oh, by the way, using a custom ROM voids your Infinix warranty.

3. Regularly Check for Security Patches:

If your Infinix smartphone is no longer eligible for new XOS updates, it will still receive Android security patches before support ends. While these patches don’t offer new features, they are crucial for fixing the operating system’s vulnerabilities, bugs, and security flaws. By addressing these risks, security patches help protect your device from malware, data breaches, and other cyber threats.

4. Be Cautious:

Be cautious when accessing online resources. Stay alert to phishing attempts and malware, and avoid downloading apps from suspicious links or unknown sources. Stick to trusted websites and platforms like the Google Play Store.

Infinix Android 15 Release Date:

The Infinix XOS 15 update download will be made available in the second quarter of 2025, starting with the NOTE 40, GT 20 Pro, XPad,  ZERO 40 and HOT 50 Series. However, ultra-budget line-up such as the SMART isn’t guaranteed to get Infinix Android 15.

Infinix’s software update policy has significantly improved over the years, with the company now rolling out major Android updates to many of its smartphones.

However, the policy remains inconsistent, as updates are often announced for only a select few models, leaving others uncertain about future support. Here’s what we know so far:

  • ZERO Series: Two guaranteed Android OS updates and three years of security patches.
  • NOTE Series: Two guaranteed Android OS updates and three years of security patches.
  • GT Series: Two guaranteed Android OS updates and three years of security patches.
  • XPad Series: Two guaranteed Android OS updates and three years of security patches.
  • HOT Series: At least one-year security patch with no guaranteed Android OS update
  • SMART Series: At least one-year security patch with no guaranteed Android OS update

How to Perform Infinix XOS Update to Android 15 (XOS 15)

Before you run the Infinix update to Android 15, ensure at least 50% battery charge for the update. Follow the steps below:

  1. Open your Infinix phone and go to “Settings”
  2. Scroll down to “System” and then click on it
  3. Now you will see another “System”. Click on it and then “System Update”.
  4. If there’s any update available for you, you will see an option to download it. Click on the Download option.
  5. Choose between mobile data or Wi-Fi to use for the download.
  6. When the download is complete, click “Install” to begin the update installation process.
  7. Your Infinix phone will reboot for the installation to take place.

To perform a local update on Infinix, select “Local Update“, locate the Infinix Android 15 update file you downloaded, and click on it to proceed with the installation.

    1. As per specs requirements, the Infinix ZERO 30 5G qualifies for Android 15 (XOS 15 update). But Infinix hasn’t said anything yet regarding it. Let’s hope it turns out different.

    1. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Infinix only promised two years of Android security patch updates on the NOTE 30 Series, and wasn’t clear if the smartphone will receive Android 15 update (XOS 15) or not.

  31. When I got the note30vip, I loved the company very much and I was promised two systems that were supposed to be Android 14 and Android 15. But I started to get affected and worried about the company’s promises and I almost hated it if they didn’t happen. My device, please update it. I am facing a lot of problems, including the smoothness that I lost from Android 13 and some special features, and with Android 14, I did not find any feature mentioned literally.
