How to update Infinix Phone to the latest XOS
Before proceeding with any system update, ensure that you have at least 50% battery juice for the update. Follow the steps below:
- Open your Infinix phone and go to Settings
- Scroll down to System and then click on it
- Now you will see another System. Click on it and then System Update.
- If there’s any update available for you, you will see an option to download it. Click on the Download option.
- Choose between mobile data or Wi-Fi to use for the download.
- When the download is complete, click Install to begin the update installation process.
- Your Infinix phone will go off on its own and, after a few moments, will turn back on when the installation process is completed.
If you have downloaded the Infinix new update, select “local update” from the steps above and proceed with the installation.
Important Note:
The following section contains three categories of Infinix phones. They include phones not eligible for XOS 14 updates, the eligible ones, and those whose eligibility status is unknown. But then, while going through the list, you might see some smartphones with similar names but not the same.
One smartphone might have about five variants with different configurations because they were launched in different markets. However, just one of the variants might even qualify for Android 14. While going through the list, always check the device model to avoid conflict with the names.
Also, this isn’t the official Android 14 list from Infinix Mobility. We will keep updating this article if there are any new changes.

If your Infinix phone falls in this section, the Android 14 OS update isn’t for you. Either get a new smartphone or be stuck with the old Android system. However, If you are lucky and your phone isn’t on this list, kindly proceed to the next one.

When will Android 14 for Infinix Phones Be Released?
Infinix has improved over the years regarding releasing Android system updates. The Smartphone maker promises two years of OS updates and security patches. However, it is still behind the likes of Samsung, Nokia, and OnePlus.
We should expect the release of Infinix XOS 14 starting November 2023 and will cross over to 2024. The rollout will be released in different phases, focusing on the flagship Zero and Note series, then the mid-range GT-series and budget-friendly Hot series. The ultra-budget-friendly Smart series won’t receive any updates unless a new device is launched.

You have to understand that ZERO 5G hardware is capable of receiving Android 14 from Infinix. Though Android 13 roll out was very poor, XOS 14 will land on more phones, including a few that missed out on Android 13.
Infinix did something similar on their Android TV, they skipped Android 10 and rolled out Android 11 to their TVs.
Again, there is no guarantee that Infinix will roll out Android 14 for ZERO 5G. Take anything for now with a pinch of salt.

Agreed! Inifnix is lagging when it comes to timely updates. However, the smartphone maker has shown commitment and improved as well.
Talking about late updates, your smartphone won’t receive new updates if the specs don’t qualify it. This is common with Samsung, OnePlus, Nokia, Oppo, and TECNO and isn’t an Infinix problem.
