What is Infinix XOS?

How to update Infinix Phone to Android 14 (XOS 14)

Infinix Note 30 up for update

Before proceeding with any system update, ensure that you have at least 50% battery juice for the update. Follow the steps below:

  1. Open your Infinix phone and go to Settings
  2. Scroll down to System and then click on it
  3. Now you will see another System. Click on it and then System Update.
  4. If there’s any update available for you, you will see an option to download it. Click on the Download option.
  5. Choose between mobile data or Wi-Fi to use for the download.
  6. When the download is complete, click Install to begin the update installation process.
  7. Your Infinix phone will reboot for the installation to take place.

If you already have the Infinix XOS update on your phone, select “Local Update“, locate the file, and click on it to proceed with the installation.

Important Note:

The following section contains three categories of Infinix phones. They include phones not eligible for XOS 14 updates, the eligible ones, and those whose eligibility status is unknown. But then, while going through the list, you might see some smartphones with similar names but not the same.

One smartphone might have about five variants with different configurations because they were launched in different markets. However, just one of the variants might even qualify for Android 14. While going through the list, always check the device model to avoid conflict with the names.

Infinix Software Update Policy

Infinix has improved over the years in terms of releasing Android system updates. The Smartphone maker promises at least one year of Android OS updates and two years of security patches. The flagship models are promised two years of Android OS updates.

Infinix Android 14 Release Date

Infinix will commence the release of the Android 14 update (XOS 14) in the first quarter of 2024. The Chinese smartphone maker has already listed some phones in the NOTE Series that will first receive the update.

  16. You have to understand that ZERO 5G hardware is capable of receiving Android 14 from Infinix. Though Android 13 roll out was very poor, XOS 14 will land on more phones, including a few that missed out on Android 13.

    Infinix did something similar on their Android TV, they skipped Android 10 and rolled out Android 11 to their TVs.

    Again, there is no guarantee that Infinix will roll out Android 14 for ZERO 5G. Take anything for now with a pinch of salt.

  27. Agreed! Inifnix is lagging when it comes to timely updates. However, the smartphone maker has shown commitment and improved as well.

    Talking about late updates, your smartphone won’t receive new updates if the specs don’t qualify it. This is common with Samsung, OnePlus, Nokia, Oppo, and TECNO and isn’t an Infinix problem.

  43. Unfortunately, that is a common problem that came with the Infinix HOT 11s out of the box. You can implement several settings on your phone to reduce the heating problem.

    However, that won’t make it go away. The only solution is to revert to the previous version your phone was running on.

  237. In the nutshell, XOS 13 appears more stable and fast than XOS 14. However the 13th one has at least one bug: reading and formatting of SOME flash cards is not available (reads: card not supported). The update luckily solves this problem. You can always ask me if any questions. But my experience is not too lenghty – been using the device since spring.
