Last month, Infinix launched the NOTE 40 series, which consists of NOTE 40, NOTE 40 Pro 4G, NOTE 40 Pro 5G, and NOTE 40 Pro Plus 5G. These are four smartphones already in the lineup, but sometimes, four isn’t enough. So, Infinix is adding a fifth device to the lineup—the NOTE 40 5G.
So what’s the main force behind this new device? 5G! Consumers increasingly emphasise 5G readiness in their phone purchasing decisions, seeking phones equipped for the next-generation network. Last year, 5G was a major factor in smartphone sales in Asia and Africa. In the Middle East and Africa alone, 5G smartphone shipments grew 60% YoY in Q4 2023.
However, many consumers want an affordable 5G device—a 5G smartphone without the “Pro features,” so Infinix is just answering that call.
Infinix Note 40 5G Specifications
So far, the Infinix NOTE 40 5G might be released soon, as it has been spotted in the Google Play Console with model number X6852. It has also been certified by the FCC, Wi-Fi Alliance, and BIS and even undergone Geekbench.
The base NOTE 40 that was launched in March is 4G capable and is powered by a MediaTek Helio G99 Ultimate chip. On the other hand, the NOTE 40 5G will sport a MediaTek Dimensity 720, a 5G capable chipset.
The device will come with 8GB of RAM, though other variants might sport more memory. Android 14 will be onboard the NOTE 40 5G, with the same two years of Android updates and 36 months of security patches.
Other features include an AMOLED display with a 1080 x 2436 resolution and a pixel density of 480ppi. The NOTE 40 5G will come with a 5,000mAh battery capacity, 108MP triple rear camera setup, and pretty much the same specs as the NOTE 40.
