Infinix Mobile has launched a new factory in the Egyptian city of Obor to produce the Infinix SMART 7 smartphone model for the Egyptian market. This move is part of Infinix’s expansion in investments in the Northeast African country.
The new production line is fitted with advanced tech and as well a lab to test newly produced devices. According to the Transsion-owned company, each device will undergo several tests to ensure that components such as the screen, battery, and software meet the required quality standards.

Infinix to produce “Made in Egypt” Smartphones
Infinix says it will continue to manufacture its smartphones in Egypt under the slogan “Made in Egypt“, so as to contribute to the localisation of the industry, while also recognising the pivotal role of the Egyptian market in the Middle East and Africa. The company also expressed hopes for further support from the Egyptian government in the form of investment incentives to encourage companies to grow production and export to neighbouring countries.
This year alone, Infinix production lines in Egypt have assembled 3 smartphones: Infinix SMART 7, HOT 12i, and HOT 20i, which all carried the slogan ‘Made in Egypt”. These phones received a great deal of demand, particularly among the youth due to their competitive prices. The positive demand encouraged the company to expand its production lines to produce the SMART 7 smartphone.
So far, the Infinix SMART 7, which is the new generation of the Infinix SMART, is the third device that Infinix produced through its production lines since the beginning of this year in Egypt.
The Infinix SMART sports a 6.6-inch (1670 x 720 resolution) FHD IPS LCD display, 267 ppi pixel density and 500 nits brightness. There’s 7 GB of RAM onboard which is a first for this category, and 64 GB internal storage that can be expanded up to 2 TB via microSD card.
The device boasts a three-dimensional design that is durable and has undergone over 200 tests to ensure its durability and suitability for different conditions. Other features include a 13-megapixel AI ultra-clear rear camera, a 5,000 mAh inbuilt battery, and various forms of security that include fingerprint and face recognition.
Infinix said that the establishment of the new factory has created a large number of direct and indirect job opportunities for Egyptian youth. These workers have received training from specialists in the smartphone industry and have demonstrated great efficiency in electronic manufacturing.
