WhatsApp has begun the beta rollout of a new update that comes with the much-anticipated Multi-account feature, which allows users to have multiple WhatsApp accounts logged in on one device.
In April this year, the Meta-owned instant messenger app introduced a new feature that allows users to make use of one WhatsApp account on multiple phones. Though this new Multi-account feature is nothing new to users of a rival messaging app called Telegram, the feature is better late than never.
According to WabetaInfo, WhatsApp’s Android beta update version 2.23.17.8 brings the ability for users to add multiple accounts to their WhatsApp app, and easily switch between them without stress.

How to Activate WhatsApp’s New Multi-account Feature
As shown by WabetaInfo, it takes just a few steps to set up your second WhatsApp account on the same Android phone. Follow these steps:
- Launch your WhatsApp app and then go to Settings.
- You will see an arrow icon next to the QR code, click on it
- Now, the arrow will expand and you will see a pop-up for you to add your new account
- Click on Add account and then input your details
Once you are done with the above, you can easily switch between accounts without the need to log out every time. Also, it’s worth noting that each account has its own chat notifications, settings, and chats, and will remain active the way the normal WhatsApp works until you log out.
This feature will eliminate the need to get parallel apps or multi phones just for the purpose of owning different WhatsApp accounts.
For now, WabetaInfo says the multi-account feature is limited to some beta testers, though, in the coming weeks, it will be rolled out to more testers worldwide.
